Emily Dickinson and me...

I adore Emily! She is one of my favorite all time poets but also I am so curious about her. I've read and continue to read everything I can get my hands on because I want more insight into how her mind worked, and who she really was. Some of her poems strike such a chord in my own heart...

Wild Nights - Wild Nights!
Were I with thee
Wild Nights should be
Our luxury!

Futile - the Winds -
To a Heart in port -
Done with the Compass -
Done with the Chart!

Rowing in Eden -
Ah, the Sea!
Might I but moor - Tonight -
In Thee!

As for my own "heart in port" I can honestly say that my "port" is right here at home. We are a family by choice. My partner, Teresa, Me and my son Caleb. Two women raising a teenage son makes for some good times and some bad but I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. The other portion of my heart is about 4 hours drive from here where my two grown children and thier families are. Hoping to see them all soon. Can't wait for Tanner to come to Gigi's and get into all of my stuff. He is walking now and I haven't seen him since the first of October, when he could only scoot! Tree is excited too and I just love that! Sharing my kids and grandkids with her makes me happy. And we are all looking forward to welcoming Cooper in January, if he doesn't come before then!
Well, this new blog is going to be an adventure. Just about me, no soap, no jewelry, no etsy. Just my life, done my way with maybe a few mistakes along the way. Starting phlebotomy school in January and working on a complete personal makeover. Stay tuned!
